The Gordon

The Gordon is a 29-unit boutique apartment development situated on the edge of Madison's Maple Bluff neighborhood, where the scale and character of the surrounding residential landscape informed every aspect of the building's design. Completed in 2020, the two-story red brick exterior draws on the region's traditional residential architecture, establishing a streetscape presence that feels rooted in its context rather than imposed upon it. An underground parking structure keeps vehicles entirely out of view, preserving clean exterior lines and maintaining the green space that defines the neighborhood's character.

At two stories, the building's intentionally low-profile massing avoids dominating the streetscape and remains in proportion with the nearby single-family estates of Maple Bluff. The brick façade references the stately materiality of the surrounding neighborhood while expressing a quiet confidence that distinguishes The Gordon as a carefully considered addition to one of Madison's most established residential enclaves.

The building's interior is defined by a level of craftsmanship and individuality rarely found in multifamily housing. No two unit floor plans are identical, with each residence featuring its own configuration of custom tray and vaulted ceilings that expand vertical volume and draw natural light into the living spaces.
