Located in Fitchburg's Uptown district on Madison's southwest side, Raven Apartments establishes a confident presence within the growing Lacy Road corridor, contributing to a cohesive residential district while setting a new standard for design quality in the Fitchburg market.

Raven's exterior draws on a layered palette of composite siding, brick veneer, and stone banding; materials selected for their durability and their ability to work together across a range of textures and tones. Warmer wood-toned cladding is balanced against cooler metallic panels and crisp black window frames, storefront, and door assemblies, creating a façade composition that feels contemporary without being stark. The interplay of horizontal articulation, material contrast, and carefully proportioned openings gives the building a depth and richness that holds up at both the street level and from a distance.

Knothe & Bruce also provided architectural design services for Raven's freestanding clubhouse and pool complex, which serves as the social heart of the community and functions as a distinct architectural element within the broader site composition. Expansive windows animate the building's exterior while drawing natural light deep into the residential floors, and the arrangement of courtyards and outdoor spaces creates a layered transition between the building and its surroundings.
