601 @ University Park is a 156-unit luxury multifamily development completed in 2023 as part of JT Klein Company's9.5-acre mixed-use redevelopment of the former Westgate Mall site in Madison. The five-story building occupies a prominent position within this larger urban revitalization effort, contributing a contemporary residential presence to a rapidly transforming corridor on Madison's west side.

The building's exterior balances scale and articulation through a material composition of brick masonry at the base and multi-toned gray siding panels on the upper floors, creating a clear visual distinction between the building's grounded lower level and its lighter, more geometric upper mass. Rhythmic columns of inset and cantilevered balconies with black metal railings punctuate the façade, generating depth and extending unit living spaces outward while reinforcing the building's contemporary character. The structure wraps around a central courtyard, allowing natural light to reach interior-facing units and organizing the site around a cohesive outdoor amenity space anchored by a heated pool, cabanas, bocce court, masonry grilling stations, and fire pits. Subterranean parking and secure bike storage are tucked below grade, keeping the ground plane clear for landscaping and pedestrian activity.
