2004 Associated General Contractors of America "Build
Wisconsin Award"
In 2004, The NAHB Seniors Housing Council presented the Gold Achievement Award for "Multifamily Housing Overall Community-Affordable Rental Apartments" to the Prairie Park Senior Apartments. The same project also won the Associated General Contractors of America "Build Wisconsin Award." These awards were based on the design of this project, which focused on array of amenities that are not normally present in affordable housing developments. These included underground heated parking, features within each unit that are adaptable to a wide range of accessibility levels, and energy conservation measures such as Energy-Star appliances.
Cortland Pond Apartments
Associated Builders & Contractors 2003 Build Wisconsin
Award
The 2003 Associated Builders & Contractors "2003 Build Wisconsin Award" was given to the Cortland Pond Apartments on Madison's far west side. The development consists of four 24-unit buildings and one 42-unit building with an attached clubhouse and swimming pool. The site plan provided for significant open space and attractive street facades. An existing retention pond was landscaped and is maintained as an aesthetic focal point for the development.
Sunwood Apartments
Associated Builders & Contractors 2002 Projects of
Distinction Award
Located in Sun Prairie, the Sunwood Senior Apartments received the 2002 Projects of Distinction Award from the Associated Builders & Contractors. This development consists of two 29-unit buildings designed and marketed specifically for senior citizens age 55 and over. The buildings are connected by a commons, which includes a community room and kitchen for group social functions, a library and a beauty salon. Exterior amenities include landscaped patios, balconies, and an outdoor retreat area with a gazebo.
